45 Days In: How's Your Momentum, Really?

LIFT Newsletter 040

If results are moving, keep going.

If they're not, check one thing: self-trust.

45 days into 2026, and I'm seeing two types of professionals in my community.

Those gaining momentum, showing up consistently, keeping their pace. If that's you, pause for a moment and acknowledge it. Don't overthink what's working - just keep going.

And those still waiting for results to show up. If that's you, this isn't about your ability or talent.

It's time to check something deeper: your self-trust.

Self-trust isn't about confidence. It's about keeping your word to yourself.

It shows up in whether you move or delay. Whether you follow through or renegotiate with yourself. Whether you act or keep waiting for the "right time."

When self-trust is strong, it looks like this:

You email your manager: "I'd like 15 minutes to discuss my Q2 priorities and get aligned on success metrics."

You speak up in the meeting with your actual thinking, even when senior people are in the room.

You apply for the stretch role before you feel 100% ready.

When self-trust is shaky, it looks like this:

You talk yourself out of the conversation that could change your trajectory.

You edit yourself in meetings, soften your point, or don't say it at all.

You delay the step that would move you forward because you're avoiding judgment.

None of this means you're weak. It means your trust in your own word has been dented.

And the biggest thing that erodes self-trust? Breaking promises to yourself.

"I'll speak to my manager about that gap." The week passes, and you don't. "I'll apply for that role." You keep postponing.

Here's your reset for the next seven days:

Pick one promise that's small enough to keep, but meaningful enough to matter. Then keep it.

That's how self-trust rebuilds. One kept promise at a time.

When it returns, you'll feel the shift - not as loud confidence, but as unshakeable steadiness.

Lead Beyond Yourself. Rise Beyond Limits.

Yours empowered,

Cassandra Nadira and the LIFT team.
